Stuart A. Morris B.A., LLB. (C.L.)
Stuart attended grammar school at St. Bon's and completed high school at Brother Rice in 1971. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and graduated, cum laude, win a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Saskatchewan College of Law.
Early in his legal career, Stuart conducted an extensive criminal law practice which brought him before Courts in many parts of the Island and Labrador. He was an Agent for the Attorney General of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Attorney General of Canada. He has engaged in both prosecution and defense work; he has appeared before all levels of Courts in the Province.
For over the past decade, the primary focus of his legal practice has been Personal Injury Law and Employment/Labour Law. The Personal Injury practice entails representation of individuals injured in motor vehicle accidents and other types of accidents. In the Labour Law field, the firm provides exclusive representation to Unions. Stuart represents construction unions, industrial unions, office worker unions. The representation has entailed numerous appearances before the Canada Industrial Relations Board, the Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Relations Board, various Boards of Arbitration, as well as the Courts.
The Firm is engaged in major sexual abuse litigation. the multiple plaintiff sexual abuse cases require a total commitment of the Firm's personnel and resources. Stuart is assisting counsel to Geoff Budden in this field of law. Over the past few years sexual abuse litigation has become a primary aspect of Stuart's legal practice.
